Honeysuckle Precinct Redevelopment
Stronach Property has been a prominent participant in the Urban Regeneration of Newcastle’s Honeysuckle Precinct, a NSW government initiative led by Hunter Development Corporation.
Through several phases of development, Stronach have delivered both The Boardwalk and Lee Wharf Stages 1 to 3. Other involvement in the precinct includes the re-development of Lee Wharf C (a historic railway shed) which now houses the Honeysuckle Hotel. Stronach was also involved in the development of the Chifley Serviced Apartments. Stronach’s involvement in the precinct has delivered more than 250 apartments, 80 serviced apartments, 5,500m2 commercial office space and activated 33 ground floor retail/hospitality spaces with a combined Gross Realisation of circa $220m.
The Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is a mixed-use inner-city project situated at Honeysuckle on Newcastle Harbour. The project comprises thirty-three apartments, eleven retail/restaurant premises, nine commercial office suites, almost 3,000m² of office space and a 134 space basement carpark. Marketing commenced in December 2001 and all thirty-three apartments sold in four days.
Value upon completion: $37m.
Lee Wharf
Lee Wharf is Newcastle’s largest inner-city urban redevelopment. Developed by a consortium consisting of the Stronach Group, ROI Pty Limited and Harrington Properties, Lee Wharf is a vibrant mix of residential, commercial, retail, restaurants and public open spaces situated on Newcastle Harbour.
