Watt St Arc

Watt St Arc was an underutilised 200 seat lecture theatre housed within our coveted adaptive re-use A-grade office building called Watt St Commercial. The project includes the redevelopment and extension of the existing "Watt St Arc," adding an added 856m2 of A-Grade Commercial space to the existing 7500 m2 Watt St Commercial already had.

The new tenancies benefit from a newly built unique office space featuring a dedicated lift and internal atrium with open stairs to all levels. The curved facades have eight recessed round windows added and skylights to the atrium and level three roof to increase natural light. Access to the redevelopment is from the foyer in the main building or through a dedicated entry on Watt Street. 

CKDS were the nominated architect and sympathetically put forward a design that is modern while paying respect to the heritage nature of the existing building. 

The building features a lobby café with a beautiful living green wall, on-site parking, and proximity to Newcastle Beach. It is conveniently located close to various public transport options, within the sought-after East End zone that houses Newcastle's best cafes, restaurants, and bars. This premium location is part of the prestigious commercial precinct of the Newcastle CBD. 

As part of these works, Stronach Property has upgraded the End of Trip facilities within the building to align with the expectations of their A-Grade tenants. Alleanza Architecture was engaged to revitalize the existing facilities so they look and feel more modern. Since they opened in late 2022, the patronage has increased considerably. The facilities include surfboard racks, bike racks, showers, change rooms, and a valet towel service.
